To access e-resources outside the campus, the Chandigarh University Library has implemented the MyLOFT Remote Access and Discovery Service, a single search platform for accessing all our subscribed digital resources anytime, anywhere along with print resources availability status in one place.

To access:

2. Library on Web

(i) Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) - Koha

The Chandigarh University library, used automated library system - Koha to manage their vast collection of resources efficiently. This system allows easy cataloging, tracking of circulation and usage data, and efficient management of acquisitions and subscriptions. The homepage of library automated system - Koha is accessible through the URL: https://culib.cuchd.in/ . Library users can access their own account by logging in with the Login ID and password provided to them by the library staff.

The user account can facilitate a user with the following information regarding their activities in the library,

  • Your summary - This option in the user account provides information about the total books checked out in the account and the status of article requests.
  • Your charges - This section provides you information about your dues and fines.
  • Your personal details - The personal details tab contains some basic information required to create your profile. From the library’s end, the data is filled from the information provided by the registration office. A user can check and correct any of the information if they find it wrong and can submit a request for moderation.
  • Your tags - This feature allows users to add tags to bibliographic records in the library catalogue, which helps in organizing and finding resources.
  • Change your password - Users can change their account password from this option.
  • Your checkout history - Users can view their checkout history from this option, which provides a record of all the materials they have borrowed from the library.
  • Your purchase suggestion - This feature allows users to suggest materials for the library to purchase and add to the collection.
  • Your messaging - Users can send and receive messages from the library staff through this feature.
  • Your lists - This feature enables users to create lists of books or other materials they want to read or borrow in the future.
  • Ask for a discharge - Users can request a discharge (No Dues) from their account, indicating that they have returned all borrowed materials and have no outstanding fines or fees.
  • Your inter-library loan request - Users can request materials from other libraries through this feature.
(ii) How to find a book in Online Library Catalogue?

After logging in to the user account of the Koha ILMS, users can browse the collection of libraries using various search interfaces.

  • Simple Search - The simple search interface allows users to search the collection using parameters such as keyword, title, author, subject, ISBN, Barcode no., etc. This search interface also provides an option to search the entire collection or the collection of a particular library by selecting the library from a dropdown menu.
  • Advance Search - The advanced search option offers users additional facets to customize their search, allowing them to choose multiple search boxes linked with Boolean search operators to conduct a more refined search.
