Site Visit to Sultanpur Lodhi Sarai (March 22-23, 2025)

This site visit provided sixth-semester B.Design Interior Design students with hands-on experience in adaptive reuse design. Students explored the historic Sultanpur Lodhi Sarai, documenting its interiors through measured drawings, material studies, and condition mapping. They analysed the site's heritage, historical significance, and adaptability for new functions while assessing construction techniques and motifs. This experience enhanced analytical and documentation skills, preparing students for industry challenges in adaptive reuse projects.

From Design Brief to Design Development Workshop (March 17-18, 2025)

This two-day workshop guided third-year B.Design students through the process of transforming design briefs into developed concepts. Organized by Interior Department, it included interactive sessions, hands-on activities, and Q&A to bridge ideation with execution.

Industrial Visit for System of Construction

(February 25, 2025) - Students from B.Design Interior Design gained on-site exposure to interior construction techniques, including false ceilings, partition systems, and modular furniture. The visit aimed to enhance material understanding, problem-solving skills, and readiness for real-world interior design challenges.

Workshop on Modular Kitchen & Hardware Application

(January 22-24, 2025) This hands-on workshop introduced students to modular kitchen concepts, cabinet construction, and Blum hardware applications. Conducted by Blum, participants learned carcass building, drilling, and creative problem-solving while gaining industry-relevant skills.

Industrial Visit to SBC Commercio and Studio Office

On February 11, 2025, Fourth-semester B.Design Interior Design students explored modular furniture integration, space optimization, and sustainable materials. The visit, coordinated under the Sustainable Solutions Network, provided insights into ergonomic design, lighting, and smart spatial zoning, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications.

Lumion Visualization Workshop

Experts: Mr. Neeraj Malik and Mr. Vishal Banga

The "Lumion Visualization Workshop" conducted from March 17th to 21st, 2025, offered students a comprehensive learning experience in architectural visualization. Led by experts Mr. Neeraj Malik and Mr. Vishal Banga, the course focused on mastering SketchUp for 3D modeling, Lumion for realistic rendering, and 3D Vista for creating interactive virtual tours. Students learned to develop immersive visual presentations, applying lighting, material mapping, and animation techniques, and creating client-ready walkthroughs. This workshop empowered participants with technical proficiency, creative problem-solving, and effective client communication, equipping them for professional design challenges.

Basics of Vastu Workshop

Experts: Ms. Nidhi Bansal

Conducted from February 17th to 21st, 2024, this course introduced the fundamentals of Vastu Shastra. Facilitated by Ms. Nidhi Bansal, students explored Vastu principles for residential and commercial spaces, emphasizing balanced and positive environments. Practical sessions and project work deepened their understanding of harmonious space planning.

Paper Honeycomb Modular Furniture Workshop

Experts: Ar. Abhimanyu Singh and Ar. Shilpi Dua

Held from March 17th to 21st, 2025, this workshop emphasized creating sustainable furniture using paper honeycomb. Guided by Shark Tank-featured experts Ar. Abhimanyu Singh and Ar. Shilpi Dua, students explored modular furniture construction, eco-friendly design principles, and innovative material manipulation techniques. The workshop fostered creativity and empowered participants to present durable, innovative, and sustainable furniture solutions.

Miniature Furniture Workshop

Experts: Ms. Anjali Lohia

Conducted from February 17th to 21st, 2025, this course focused on miniature furniture design. Students learned techniques for crafting precise scale models, understanding furniture proportions, and using materials creatively. Led by Ms. Anjali Lohia, participants gained hands-on experience and presented prototype models showcasing their craftsmanship and understanding of sustainable practices.

Industrial Visit-interior / Exterior Expo - 10th February 2020

An industrial visit to INT-EXT EXPO 2020 was organised for the students of 2nd and 4th semester to explore the interior and exterior exhibition along with the trends going on in the market. The objective of this was to provide knowledge of the latest trends and technology to our students to turn their dream projects into reality.

Green Interiors & Hvac & R Installations - 13th February 2020

Expert / Faculty: Mr Money Khanna BOG member of ASHRAE, India Chapter.

He shared his expertise with us on manufacturing of air distribution products in the HVAC industry. BSc. Interior Design, of Chandigarh University established its own ASHRAE Chandigarh Chapter.

An industrial visit to HATIL furniture store was organized for the students of 4th semester to explore the innovative designs of furniture as per the trends going on in the market and should have knowledge for the same.

Creative Vision Expert Session

The Departments of B. Design (Industrial Design and Interior Design) of Chandigarh University organized an Expert Session (Creative Vision) by Ms. Shashi Gulleria for students of the Industrial Design and Interior Design Department to enhance their skills on 5th April, 2022 (10:00 am – 1:00pm). Ms. Shashi Gulleria is currently working in PIDILITE company and has 8 years of work experience. The expert talk was organized so that the students could get hands on experience of the level of hard work, patience, perseverance and dedication.
