Various activities organized by the Department of Mathematics, University Institute of Sciences to foster the beyond academic temperaments of students are:
The conference focused on the latest advancements in functional materials and the simulation techniques used for their design, development, and application across various industries. Experts from different counteries share their knowledge with students and faculty.
The invited talk was delivered by Ms. Anju Malhotra, Project lead PISOFT Informatics Pvt. Ltd. and Ms. Arshdeep Kaur, Training Head, PISOFT Informatics Pvt. Ltd. Session started with the Welcome of Guests by Prof.(Dr.) Harish Nagar, Associate Director Mathematics. Ms. Arshdeep Kaur give a brief introduction of Python Programming and stated the Applications of Python programming.
The workshop began with a welcome note and an introduction to Solitaire Infosys, highlighting its projects related to data science. Ms. Verma shared insights into the company's work and the job and research opportunities in data science. Mr. Praduman discussed career paths for math graduates, focusing on data science and statistics, emphasizing the skills required, including programming, statistics, and mathematical modeling.
The main aim of this workshop is to make students aware about the Python Programming basics and Advanced Python for their Research Purpose and Placement Aspect. Python is consistently rated as one of the world's most popular programming languages. Python is fairly easy to learn, so if you are starting to learn any programming language then Python could be your great choice. The main Audience of this workshop was M.Sc. data Science Students.
Mr. Karan Puri gave a brief introduction about IP rights and talked about the importance and role they play in fostering innovation, creativity and economic growth. Then he elaborated the difference between copyrights, trademarks and patents and explained the scholars how a patent can be filed, a trademark is used and a copyright is claimed, using different day to day examples. He engaged scholars by giving them some group discussion tasks on how we can make an already available product in market patentable.
"The conference aimed to explore the latest advancements in
the
fields of mathematical analysis and its applications,
fostering
global collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Key
Topics
Covered:
Emerging trends in mathematical analysis,
including
functional analysis, differential equations, and applied
mathematical methods. Innovations in computational
mathematics
and numerical analysis. Interdisciplinary applications of
mathematics in fields like mathematics, engineering,
finance,
and data science. Mathematical modeling and its role in
solving
real-world problems."
Expert has elaborated the concepts related to Mathematical Modelling for the understanding of World. Mathematical models can take many forms, including dynamical systems, statistical models, differential equations, or game theoretic models. These and other types of models can overlap, with a given model involving a variety of abstract structures. In general, mathematical models may include logical models.
Expert has elaborated the concepts related to Algebra including Sterling Numbers, Groups, vector spaces, Linear Transformations Etc. Stirling numbers are used in a variety of fields, including combinatorics, algebra, and statistics. Stirling numbers can be used to count the number of ways to partition a set of n objects into k non-empty subsets. These can also be used to prove identities involving binomial coefficients and factorials, in the study of algebraic structures that have a combinatorial interpretation, and to generate functions that enumerate combinatorial structures.
"The speaker discussed the following points:Explain the basics of AI and its current capabilities. Define sustainable development and its importance in today’s world. Demonstrate specific use cases where AI has contributed to sustainability, such as climate change mitigation, resource management, and renewable energy optimization. Discuss AI-driven innovations in various sectors like agriculture, water management, urban planning, and healthcare. Address the ethical implications and potential risks of using AI in sustainable development. Discuss challenges such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the digital divide. "
