Asian International Fashion Week

Chandigarh University, BSc. Fashion & Design, 2nd & 1st year students participated in Asian International Fashion Week at Mapple Gold by Radisson Blu, Paschim Vihar New Delhi on the 23rd and 24th of December, 2022. Won first position with tilted “Best college to showcase the Designs” in AIFW Asia International Fashion Week, 2022. Many leading designers such as Kirti Rathore, Niharika Sharma, Frankey Garg, Coco by Surjeet, Kingshuk Bhaduri and Sooyam Gurung participated in AIFW on the 23rd and 24th of December, 2022. Many Bollywood celebrities walked the runway as showstoppers, Such as Femina Miss India, Actress Radhi Samrat, Bollywood Actor Vishal Kotian.

Asian International Fashion Week

Whole event at university level was coordinated by Mr. Shadad Khan & Ms. Jyoti Rani. Students were mentored by the design faculties- Mr. Inderjeet Kumar, Ms. Rasika Kaushal, Ms. Shabana Sharif, Ms. Navjot Kaur. Our students worked in 7 groups; all groups were assigned one theme as per their team research work. Themes were like Vintage fire, Queen Victoria, Ying yan, Zen z, Boss Lady etc. Main aim of all the theme was to empower the women in society. All students were excited during the whole event, this event boost the confidence of students.

Asian Fashion Tour 2023

Extremely happy to share that our Students of Fashion Design Department have participated and won first position with titled “Creative Collection” in AFT Asian Fashion Tour which was held in HLV Film City, Mohali on 27th and 28th October, 2023. Total 18 fashion students showcased their theme-based design collection. Some of the prominent themes presented by students were Oceanic Odyssey, Western Kalbelia, Blood Moon, Patched Perfect, Gorgeous Golden. All the students have followed the due process of research methodology while making their design collection. All the silhouettes were selected after researching the design directions from global fashion forecasting sites like WGSN and Promo style for Autumn Winter 2023-24. Colour selection for all the outfits was done after diving deep into the colour forecasting available on the global colour forecasting agencies like Pantone. Students had showcased their theme-based designer collection on international platform on behalf of Chandigarh University. The event was covered by several media houses of New Delhi and Chandigarh which in turn will provide recognition to our university in the field of Fashion & Design. Both Students and Teachers got opportunity to interact with many national and international designers. This participation and exposure also provide a stepping stone to enhance student’s career path and personal skills. The students enjoyed the time as well as participated with a great enthusiasm and the takes done was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sangeeta (Assistant Professor) & Ms. Jyoti Rani of the Fashion & Design Department.
